2010 EPSFA Big Fish Derby Official Rules
- Derby will run from April 19th (day after Spring Trout Challenge) to mid-night December 31st 2010
- Deadline for Walleye sign ups: the Walleye Challenge on June 19th
- Deadline for Steelhead sign ups: the Fall Trout Challenge on October 24th
- It will include Walleye and Steelhead taken from PA waters of Lake Erie and its tributaries only
- This is an EPSFA member only derby
- All Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission fishing regulations apply
- Anyone caught cheating will be banned from all future EPSFA tournaments
- FISH caught when fishing other E.P.S.F.A. tournaments will not be ALLOWED to be entered in this derby
- All fish must be verified and weighed at Poor Richards or East End Angler
- We will use the Pa Angler Award form this year available at the official weigh stations which must be completely filled out, including witness signature, verifying you were the one that caught the fish, where the fish was caught, weight, length (squeeze tail method) and signature of the weighing agent
- Verification and photo (optional) must be submitted to Craig Stiede where it will be posted on the EPSFA website
- You can resubmit a larger fish at anytime during the derby period, but only one Walleye and one Steelhead entry shall be on the leader board at any given time per member
- Cost will be $10 for the Walleye big fish entry and $10 for the Steelhead big fish entry - you can do either or both
- Derby Entry: You may pay the entry fee in person to enter the derby or you may mail your entry form to the address listed below, however, the entry fee envelope must be postmarked at least one day before you will be eligible to enter a fish. Entry form and payment may be submitted in person at any EPSFA events or meetings.
- This derby will be a 90% payback event. There will be (3) winners for the walleye and (3) winners for the Steelhead. Pay out will be as follows:
- 1st Place= 50%
- 2nd Place= 30%
- 3rd Place= 20%
- The EPSFA will keep 10% of the entry fees for its continuing effort to enhance our fishery
- In the event of a tie, the length will determine the winner
- All decisions made by the Derby rules committee will be final - the “spirit” of the rule will be used when making decisions in the event of an infraction or reported rule violation
- You may submit entry form and payment at any of our monthly meetings or events
- The EPSFA meets on the last Wednesday of every month starting at 6:30 pm @ Calamari’s, 1317 State St, Erie, PA)
- Winners will be announced and prizes will be awarded at the January 2011 monthly meeting
